Dan Clarke will deliver an intensive identification workshop on common east coast wattles, common to the Sydney region (and further afield).The workshop will cover wattle morphology and groupings, focussing on bipinnate as well as phyllode-species. A large array of species will be covered in this two day workshop

Dan Clarke is Director / Senior Botanist at Arcane Botanica Pty Ltd.
Dan has acquired over 12 years’ experience as a botanical consultant, working on flora assessments and threatened species surveys, large-scale vegetation surveys, weed surveys and implementing conservation management strategies in many areas of NSW.
He has been engaged as a sub-consultant by multiple companies in the ecological industry of NSW for extensive field survey work. Dan is also a currently a collector of Genbank specimen material for the National Herbarium of NSW.
Dan is a full practicing member of the Ecological Consultants Association of NSW.
Stemming from an early background in bushland regeneration, Dan has taught at NSW TAFE DIGITAL and Padstow campuses during 2011 to 2021 as a casual Conservation and Land Management Teacher, teaching botany and plant identification, soil assessment, mapping, work health and safety and bushland regeneration techniques. Dan continues to have an online assessment-marking role at TAFE NSW

- Acacia specimens you may like to share with the class (please bring a sample and a photo of the Acacia in situ)
- Suitable clothes and footwear each day for the field component
